Forever grateful to good citizens
The Editor, Sir:
On Wednesday, September 15, I went to do business at the National Contracts Commission's office. While there I felt sick. The lady who was dealing with me (Ms A. Powell) was very attentive to me. She left her desk and sought to help in every possible way she could. She then got me a hot cup of mint tea and never left me.
There was also Cpl R. Carter, who was also very attentive. He even called a colleague to take me to the doctor because my pickup was taking a bit long (at that time two minutes looked like two hours in case of sickness). However, my drive was a few minutes away so Cpl Carter called his colleague and cancelled the pickup. He then took me to the ele-vator and put me to sit comfortably in the lobby until my drive came.
All is not lost
I just want, through this medium, to say big thanks to both Ms Powell and Cpl Carter for the loving care showed to me. As Jamaicans, we tend to highlight the bad things about people and the country, and especially to our security personnel. Persons like these give us hope in this country, and remind us that all is not lost in our beautiful Jamaica.
I want to say to both Ms Powell and Cpl Carter, keep up the good work. You both are examples of good Jamaicans. You both make the National Contracts Commission's office proud. May God bless and keep them and I pray that what they did for me will be returned to them, and much more.
I am, etc.,
F. HALL
