Peter-Portia combo - too much cholesterol
The Editor, Sir:
A day in politics is like a year. Although the Manatt debacle has seriously wounded the Jamaica Labour Party administration, it is doing a good job with this economy. The People's National Party (PNP) had been in power for 18.5 years, what did they achieve? These were the accomplishments: high unemployment rates, high crime rates, single-digit economic growth, the dollar running away, scandal after scandal, FINSAC and a debt-to-GDP ratio out of this world. Do we want to go back to this?
The PNP has never felt they should have lost the last election and have never stopped trying to wrestle state power from the JLP. As one of their senior officers said, "We always think it best that we should form the Government of Jamaica, so anything that causes us to attain this position, we deem right for the country."
The PNP, being who they are, politicians and not statesmen and women, will ride this donkey until it's dead, to try win the next election to resume their pernicious plans and attitudes in this country. Therefore, I guess 'Mr Run wid it' will be at the helm to resume his destruction of the economy because he was not finished in 2007.
I know Jamaicans are intelligent people. Nuh mek dem fool unoo! The Peter and Portia combo - is too much cholesterol!
