LIME sale not a done deal

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS most unfortunate that the lead story in the Business section of your November 10 edition - both the headline and the lead sentence - asserts as fact that LIME is selling part of its operations to a global telecoms company.

While LIME has confirmed to the media that we are engaged in exploratory talks to examine the feasibility of such a managed services agreement, it is extremely important to correct the impression given by your story that this is a done deal. It is not.

The reality is that LIME continues to explore various options aimed at maximising the full potential of our full-service business model, including proposals that may be generated internally.

If and when there is an announcement to be made concerning the exploratory talks now taking place, the company will do so in a timely manner after full consultationwith our employees and their representatives.

In the meantime, LIME Jamaica remains focused on making our business even more competitive with our ongoing expansion in 3G; an extensive upgrade of our Internet core network; and our soon-to-be-launched mobile TV offering.
