Colombian president to visit Jamaica

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos  Calderón  will arrive for a two-day visit starting tomorrow.

Santos has been invited by Prime Minister Bruce Golding as both Jamaica and Colombia move to forge closer alliance between the two states, with national security being the main focus.

While on the island, President Santos will meet with Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller, as well as Governor General Sir Patrick Allen, Education Minister Andrew Holness, and principal of the University of the West Indies, Professor Gordon Shirley.
