Tesha charged with robbery

Reputed Clansman gang leader Tesha Miller has been charged with robbery with aggravation involving a motor car and illegal possession of a firearm.
Miller is to appear in the Gun Court next week.
The charge came a day after the police in the St Catherine North Division were placed on high alert, following reports of threats against them. It also coincided with a stand-off between police and residents demanding Miller's release.
The police, who are not taking the threats lightly, yesterday called for reinforcement from the military.
As early as 8 a.m., residents - mostly women - took to the streets to protest along Burke and March Pen roads.
Police and soldiers were quick on the scene and dispersed the crowd, taking four protesters into custody for breaches of the National Solid Waste Management Act.
Business interests said they were depending on the police to be effective in their approach towards the situation.
"We are very concerned about the situation and hope the police will assist the businesses to remain viable," said Dennis Robotham, president of the St Catherine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. "We also hope it will happen soon enough for Christmas."
Miller has been in custody since December 11.
His attorney, Bert Samuels, said Miller has declared he was innocent of the charges and looking forward to his day in court.
