Health fair helps Milk River residents
MILK RIVER, Clarendon:
RESIDENTS OF Milk River benefited recently from a health fair hosted by the Tourism Product Development Company Limited (TPDCo).
Diane Sommerville, manager of the Milk River Bath Hotel and Spa, said she was surprised and pleased with the number of persons who turned up at the fair, which was held on the grounds of the facility.
Rachel Morrison, HIV programme officer at TPDCo, said the fair was a part of the hotel's rebranding exercise, in an effort to make it a key player in the health tourism industry.
The Clarendon Health Department and Clarendon community peer educators were on hand, conducting free HIV tests, diabetes and blood pressure checks. The groups also disseminated information about dengue fever and other vector-borne diseases.
