Transport Authority reissues road licences for January
The Transport Authority has recalled road licences for rural stage carriage operators from the eastern parishes of Portland, St Mary and St Thomas, as well as route taxis in the Kingston Metropolitan Region and Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) sub-franchises which terminate in downtown Kingston.
In a release yesterday, the authority said these licences would be reprinted to reflect the new terminal points for downtown Kingston to meet the January 15, 2011 opening of the new downtown Kingston transportation facilities.
The authority said its Licensing Management Informa-tion System database has been updated and the new road licences will be available for collection at its Maxfield Avenue, St Andrew, head office.
The authority urged operators to collect their licences on the specified dates so that they can be fully aware of the approved routes and terminal facilities and call 926-8912 or toll free at 1-888-991-5687 for further information.
