Assamba applies for Trelawny candidacy
Former Cabinet Minister Aloun Assamba has applied to be the candidate for the People's National Party in North Trelawny.
Assamba, who was forced to leave representational politics ahead of the 2007 general election because her constituents in South East St Ann said she was an underperformer, is seeking to fill the void that would be created when Dr Patrick Harris steps aside as the PNP's standard-bearer.
Damion Crawford, president of the People's National Party Youth Organisation; Paul Lyn, defeated 2007 candidate in North East Manchester; councillor for Falmouth division, Garth Wilkinson; and former councillor for the Martha Brae division, Claudette Jackson-Rickards, have applied to represent the party in the constituency.
