SAJ partners with Rotary youth arm

The Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) partnered with the Rotaract Club of Liguanea Plains (RCLP) during World Rotaract Week to provide medical services to the Jamaica National Children's Home (JNCH). The one-day health clinic was also supported by the Rotary Club of Liguanea Plains.

The partners provided general medical check-ups to the wards. RCLP also partnered with Colgate Palmolive to provide dental services and care packages .

President of RCLP, Yahneake Sterling, thanked the SAJ for its continued support of wellness in communities across the island.

"We are very pleased to have partnered with the SAJ and our parent organisation, the Rotary Club of Liguanea Plains, to provide medical services to JNCH," Sterling said.

"RCLP also extends a special thank you to Colgate Palmolive," she added.

Making a difference

Roger Hinds, president of SAJ, commended RCLP for its efforts to make a difference in the lives of the wards of JNCH.

"The SAJ has always supported the youth of Jamaica through its many community outreach projects including the Marcus Garvey Basic School," Hinds said. "I applaud the Rotaract Club of Liguanea Plains for the projects undertaken to bring about a change in the lives of our youth."

Transportation for the SAJ's mobile clinic was provided by Seaport Equipment Limited in 2010.
