Schoolboys arrested

SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT of Police Delroy 'Cowboy' Knight has revealed that at least eight boys, of a prominent Corporate Area high school, were arrested yesterday morning following an incident in Cross Roads, Kingston.

"One of them has since been charged in connection with an offensive weapon," explained Knight, who emphasised that the police would be executing a zero- tolerance approach to the Night Noise Abatement Act.

According to the police, some students have been sharpening the edges of their T-square to use as a weapon. A T-square is a technical drawing instrument used by draftsmen primarily as a guide for drawing horizontal lines on a drafting table.

"No post-Champs parties will be permitted. Last year, after the championships ended, we had about 12 reported cases of robberies. This year, we want an incident-free event, so the police will be in every crevice and corner," said Knight.
