ALBERT, TOWN, Trelawny: AFTER A sojourn to the north of the parish and a hiatus of a year, the Trelawny Yam Festival is to return with a bang on Easter Monday - April 25 - back in Albert Town where it all started 14 years ago.

This Southern Trelawny Environmental Agency-produced event is the doyen of the many food festivals across the nation, and is expected to return to its number-one position as it returns to its base.

Several activities will be held leading up to the day. The first is the farmers' field celebration, to be held in Dutch Hill on April 19. The field day event is intended to bring recognition to the life of the farmer, and focus on the processes involved in the production of yam.
