Hope Channel records Caribbean documentary
Hope Channel, the Seventh-day Adventist Church's global television network, through an initiative dubbed 'Project Hope West Indies', has been recording programmes in Jamaica for broadcast.
The recordings, which started on February 22, are produced at the Northern Caribbean University television studio, and are geared towards presenting the diverse worship culture of the Caribbean to a global viewership.
"The 'Project Hope West Indies' series are outstanding in creativity and content," said Kandus Thorp, vice-president of Hope Channel.
"I believe the viewers in this region will be proud to have programmes that represent them to the global Adventist family and to provide a unique picture of who Adventists are in this part of the world."
The project involves the recording of 118 programmes and covers eight series with each not only showcasing the region's scenic beauty, culture and talents, but also important wholesome lifestyle practices that will enrich the lives of families and individuals in the areas of health, music, family life, gender issues, children, youth, the church in the community and the preaching of the word.
Give back
"The Seventh-day Adventist Church in this region of the West Indies is very pleased to partner with Hope Channel in presenting quality family programmes to help viewers have a safe TV alternative and to discover a rich educational experience in the areas of Bible study, healthy lifestyle and family issues," said Pastor Everett Brown, president of the Adventist Church in Jamaica.
"It also offers an opportunity for our regional Seventh-day Adventists to give back to their community by sharing their talents and knowledge with a wider audience."
