FINANCE MINISTER Audley Shaw has confirmed that the finalisation of the Air Jamaica-Caribbean Airlines deal that was set for today has again been delayed.

Shaw, who was speaking to reporters yesterday during a post-Budget press conference at his Heroes Circle offices, said there were "just a few minor points" to be resolved.

Those issues, the minister said, include minor amendments to the shareholder agreement.

"The attorney general in Trinidad has to look at it and the attorney general in Jamaica has to look at it ... that sort of thing," he said.

Media reports in Trinidad have indicated that the signing of the deal to complete the transfer of Air Jamaica assets to Caribbean Airlines has been delayed for two weeks.

Shaw said the Jamaica Government believes the two-week extension is a "fairly reasonable" time frame within which everything can be concluded.
