Greig Smith new registrar at OCR
GREIG SMITH, former employee of the Child Development Agency (CDA), has been appointed registrar of the Office of the Children's Registry (OCR).
The OCR announced the appointment on Wednesday. Smith replaces Carla Francis Edie, who left the registry in June last year to head the CDA.
According to the OCR, Smith, a former team leader at the CDA Westmoreland office, has more than 10 years experience of working with children. Smith worked as a children's officer for the CDA for five years before he worked as a teacher, guidance counsellor and lecturer.
The OCR said Smith plans to improve the efficiency of the management of reports, increasing public education and strengthening OCR's partnership with its relevant stakeholders.
The Children's Registry is the central point for receiving reports of children who have been or are likely to be abused, neglected, abandoned, exploited or are otherwise in need of care and protection.
