New regime for UK visa applicants
SEVERAL EMPLOYEES of the Worldbridge Visa Centre in St Andrew are set to lose their jobs when the company closes on May 12.
For several years, Worldbridge has been operating the UK Visa Application Centre of the British High Commission.
But the commission says as of next Thursday, Worldbridge will be closed and its services transferred to the high commission's premises.
The high commission says as of May 16, all visa applicants for the UK should go to the West Gate of the British High Commission on 28 Trafalgar Road to submit the applications.
The high commission is also warning that applicants will not be admitted without an appointment.
It also says application fees must now be paid online using the high commission's secure credit card facility.
Applications should still be completed online at www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk before any visit to the high commission. Applicants will not be admitted without an appointment.
