ICWI, LIME partner on new app
The Insurance Company of the West Indies Limited (ICWI) has teamed up with telecoms company LIME to introduce a new mobile phone app called 'Accident Alert' for faster submission of claims.
Built by Generousitas (Jamaica) Limited, the new feature provides subscribers with guidance and the ability to capture all required details and photographs in order to successfully submit relevant information before they leave the scene of an accident.
The details of the partnership were not disclosed.
'A quantum leap'
"Expeditious claims service is our business, and we consider this app a quantum leap," said ICWI president Paul Lalor in a statement on the new partnership.
"We thank LIME for helping us to bring this convenience to our current and future clients."
The BlackBerry app will be facilitated on the LIME network, and regional special projects manager Stephen Price suggests the service might prod customers to exploit the benefits of the technology.
"BlackBerry devices offer a plethora of untapped possibilities that may be used for everyday activities, yet most persons utilise less than 10 per cent of their functionality," he said.
ICWI has proven to be an innovator over the years with the introduction of products such as the Road Angel Policy, Accident Forgiveness, and Uninsured Motorist Coverage.
In addition to simplifying the claims process, the Accident Alert app can alert emergency services, call for roadside assistance, and provide contacts for ICWI locations nationwide.
