RIO BUENO, Trelawny:

Four stowaways from the Dominican Republic were caught in waters off the coast in Rio Bueno, Trelawny, yesterday morning about 8 o'clock.

The men were picked up by the police who theorised that they arrived on a ship which docked in the area after 7 o'clock.

Speculation is that the men hid in the ship, and when it reached Rio Bueno, they disembarked, believing that they were in Miami. The men were taken to the Falmouth Hospital for health checks, and up until late afternoon, they were still there.

Residents who spotted them, believing they were Haitian, alerted the police. Investigations are continuing.
