PORT ANTONIO, Portland:

THE PORT Antonio Hospital which provides services to thousands of residents will this Labour Day receive a well-deserved facelift and beautification of its lawn.

The facility has been selected as the Portland parish project for 2011. Mayor of Port Antonio, Floyd Patterson, has encouraged councillors and other volunteers to turn out early.

"We want to be on location from as early as 7 a.m. I know councillors will want to be in their respective divisions to oversee the various community projects, so therefore we want to get the ball rolling before they leave for such duties. The National Solid Waste Management Authority will be on location to assist with the removal of garbage and debris," said Patterson.

The mayor has also appealed to representatives from various external agencies and local volunteers to come out in their numbers , in order to make the parish Labour Day project a success, which will also see repairs being carried out to the hospital's perimeter fencing.
