BARVIA GORDON, an employee of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA), living in Central Village, searched for words to describe her relief of missing the trip yesterday morning where four of her colleagues were killed in a motor-vehicle crash along the Ewarton main road.

The deaths of four employees have left the agency in shock.

"I wake up late this morning and the truck left me and when I heard the news I was so shocked, me feel weak ina me body," she said.

The four, Everett Campbell, Michael Mitchell, Ricardo Salmon and Alvin Mitchell, the driver, died when their vehicle, which was en route to Ocho Rios to help to complete a project, crashed into an oncoming trailer.

Joan Gordon-Webley, executive director of the NSWMA, told The Gleaner that her agency would be providing assistance to the grieving families.

"We are going to do whatever we can to help to get them through the period. It is heart-rending and I don't know when we will ever get over this," she said.
