Wear those vests - Ellington
POLICE COMMISSIONER Owen Ellington has issued a reminder to members of the force that they are required to wear their bulletproof vests at all times while on duty.
In the latest Force Orders released yesterday, Ellington said: "It has been observed in recent times that some members have not been wearing their bulletproof vests when on duty. Members who have been issued with bulletproof vests are reminded to wear them whilst on duty."
According to Ellington, commanding officers are to conduct an audit of personnel in their units without vests and apply for the protective gears.
"In instances where members are without vest and until these are supplied, efforts are to be made to avoid deploying them for assignments, which will expose them to undue danger," Ellington told the commanding officers.
