Author portrays good values and attitudes in new works
Nalda Taylor-Wright has two new books on the market. They are Jamaica Voices - Stories Teaching Positive Values and Attitudes and Jamaica Vibes.
Jamaica Vibes is a book of poetry that has a mix of both dialect verses and English pieces. There are poems suitable for children as young as about eight years, as well as for children at the upper primary and secondary levels. It is worth reading.
Jamaica Voices - Stories Teaching Positive Values and Attitudes was written specifically with the age group 10-12 years in mind, however, younger and older children have read it and found the stories interesting. Stories are used skillfully to portray good values and attitudes. This book aims to help counteract some of the negative values and attitudes displayed by some older folks in society. Both books are available at leading book stores.
Taylor-Wright is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Church and St Joseph's Teachers' Colleges. She has worked in schools across the island in various capacities.
