GSAT results soon just a click away

IN AN effort to facilitate a smother process of issuing the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) results, the Ministry of Education is to allow persons to access the scores on the Internet.

Andrew Holness, minister of education, said this would give parents more options, and will facilitate a smoother process in accessing the results.

"The ministry plans to pilot the results on the Internet, so parallel to the local releases, parents can now log on to the website," Holness said on Tuesday at a press conference, held at the ministry's Heroes Circle head offices in Kingston.

Parents will only need to know the unique identification number of the child, along with their password, in order to access the grades.

Holness said the unique identification number will also allow the ministry to track students' progress and record their results and behaviour. This, he said, is part of the National Students' Registry.

As such, he urged parents and teachers to ensure that the registration form that is being circulated in the schools for grade-five students are completed thoroughly and on time.
