Some 1,000 jobs are to become available at a prominent Hanover hotel in the near future; do you believe residents of this parish are sufficiently equipped to fill job vacancies in the hospitality sector?

Yes, I believe we have a lot of talented young people in this parish, who just need an opportunity to show their worth. It is great news that these job opportunities are opening up because we really need them to create employment for the many persons who are without jobs.

It is good that job opportunities are opening up but I am not sure if we have enough persons with the necessary training to take these jobs. We have too many idlers on the street not seeking to get training so that they can acquire jobs.

I believe we have young people who are more than qualified, so these jobs can't come too quickly. We have a lot of young people with experience in the hospitality sector and we have many others who are waiting for the experience, exposure and, most importantly, a job.

We have people who are qualified in so many different areas. We have competent masons, plumbers, carpenters, chefs and waiters ... . You name them and we have them. I am happy to hear about these jobs, as it will help to ease the unemployment problem in the parish.

We know we have well-trained youngsters out there ready to take these jobs, and it is my hope that these jobs will go to the young people of this parish, who have got themselves prepared through training.
