A drive-by shooting in Kingston over the weekend has left two people dead and another six nursing gunshot wounds.

Dead are 33-year-old Kino Mitchell, otherwise called 'Ninja' of Tower Street, and 17-year-old Romario Myers of Stephen Lane, both in Kingston 16.

According to the Elletson Road police, about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, a group of persons were gathered at the intersection of Tower Street and South Camp Road when a grey Toyota Corolla motor car drove up with men armed with high-powered weapons.

The occupants of the motor car reportedly opened fire at the group, resulting in the eight persons being shot. They were all taken to hospital where Mitchell was pronounced dead and Myers died while being treated. Two persons have been released, while the other four remain hospitalised.

The crime scene was processed by the Major Investigation Task Force.
