Percy's big surprise

After 13 years of marriage, and some 30 years with the same man, Murine Clarke is asking only for quality of time, not quantity; but honesty, love and respect from her husband, Percy.

While Percy Clarke, the New York-based attorney, who flies to the Big Apple weekly for work, returning home on weekends to the "skinny, meagre legs" woman he would tease playfully 30 years ago.

"I would love to get to the stage in my life where she is not capable of surprising with a party," admitted Clarke when he realised last Sunday that for the second time in two years his wife and her accomplices, Godfrey and Odette Dyer, had succeeded in tricking him into attending his own wedding anniversary party.

Godfrey Dyer actually told Clarke the party was in honour of Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, and who would want to miss that?

"The man we are about to honour is not yet here, but there is another man in our midst who we want to pay tribute to. He is a friend, one of the greatest friends anyone could have in their life," said Dyer, as he let the puss out of the bag.

Shocked out of his wits, Percy Clarke could not contain the laughter and in response admitted, "I am very trusting and won't ask many questions about why are we buying champagne, etc," admitted Clarke, noting that as of now he would starting looking out of his left eye because I know that Godfrey and Odette will in the right eye," he quipped.

Turning to the fantastic woman he now calls his soulmate, Percy Clarke told her that theirs was wonderful and great history, "She is the only one who would put up with me, she has been a wonderful wife, a great, great wife."
