Party on the beach!
When you get an invitation to a National Commercial Bank (NCB) party, you know you are in for a special treat. When the venue is the picturesque Laughing Waters in Ocho Rios, St Ann, you know you are guaranteed an ambience conducive to fun and relaxation. Combine that with the creative talents of An Elegant Affair's Karen Clarke and you know the ambience will be tastefully decorated and oozing sophistication.
Guests were shuttled to the venue in air-conditioned comfort, and upon arrival had the choice of blended cocktails, cold coconut water or sugar cane. Smiling hosts and hostesses greeted guests with cards outlining the day's offerings and were escorted to the soup line.
Group Managing Director Patrick Hylton said 2012 is a special year because NCB is in its 175th year of existence.
"It is a huge responsibility and legacy that we could not have achieved without the support, commitment and patronage of our customers," Hylton said.
"Many thanks must go to our management, clients and staff for making us a Jamaican icon representative of Jamaican success and survivor of World Wars, conflicts, earthquakes and economic challenges. We are indeed privileged," he added
In acknowledging the trust placed in the bank, Hylton pledge to continue to build on the legacy inherited.
So, what did the NCB team have in store? You could have your picture taken and later presented in a commemorative 175th-anniversary frame. You could head straight to the beach for seafood delights including grilled or jerked lobster and escoveitched fish. You could spend the day lazing on beach beds as the waters lapped at your toes. You could swing your cares away in a hammock; could take a ride on the beautiful catamaran or watch the activities from the giant-sized screen strategically positioned on the beach.
The event was just the first in a series of three planned for the year-long anniversary celebrations. The next one slated for the Hope Gardens.
