My God reigns

My God reigns

He sends the rain so I have water to drink

He helps me to use my brain to think wisely

When I am in pain he is my main source of strength

He protects me from the forces of

darkness

He comforts me when I am in a state of sadness

Every morning he wakes me up with gladness in my heart

I put my faith in him because he is a great God and I know

He will take me to the place where he dwells.

Belong

You've done what you must

Still left in the dust

Who do you trust?

To break you

Erase you

Then remake you

And tell me

Who will never forsake you?

Give you a breakthrough

Despite of all the things that you do

And been through?

And tell me, who

Will forgive your wrong

Rewrite your song

Then show you who you were all along?

So tell me

To whom do you belong?

Who do you bring along?

With you on this rugged road

To behold

The truth untold

Spoken from the old

Unto the new

And for me

To you

The chosen few.

My pimple and I

A gentle strike I give your face

A glowing pink you bless the days

You are such a secret

A gallivanting joy that scraps my gloomy days

You are brave, you are a triumph

On my forehead

Your cuddle feels like glue on my eyelash

Don't leave me, I walk a blemished road

A path pelted by lies of unbiased love

Stay with me; let me see her true self

I will see her soul when she sees

Ten of you on my face.

He loves me still

Oh, how He loves me

He promised to keep, protect and guide

Oh, how He loves me

He says 'Child, I'll always be by your side'

He told me His will to follow

But I turned from His glory

Enticed by the world and in sin I wallowed

After promising to tell that wondrous story

I wandered off, taking the wrong path

And He didn't shut the door

That really blew my mind

He asked for my heart

He didn't ask for more

'Though your sin be as scarlet

They shall be as white as snow'

Those sacred words whispered in my ear

My Lord still loves me after all I've done

Oh, how He cares

He loves me when I fall beneath His will

He loves me when my vows I don't fulfil

He loves me

I just can't keep still

He loves me, He loves me

Oh, how He loves me still.

Old man's dream

I cant stand up anymore, much less walk

I miss the days when I was in my prime

The days when I used to walk, wine and dine

The days when I could get large and be in charge

But now I am like an old car that sits dead in the garage

A simple walk to the shady park I used to take for granted

Age got the better of me, yes, age has the advantage

I wish I could walk again, even if I feel a little pain

To explore many different avenues, roads, streets and lanes.

Survivor

My death sentence was handed down to me in my mother's womb

My destiny was already planned, my demise was at hand

While you were ejected out of joy into laughter

I was rejected out of love into sadness

Growing up, I carved my own will, taking no one's pill

Believed in God, but my practice was a paradox

Consumed the things that were toxic

I was radical

I wanted to get all I could

Do all that I should.

There was still shortage, paying rent, not mortgage

I speak from my heart

How did I survive?

All I can say is only God could make it that way

I was forsaken in my first entrance among church folks

They called me crazy when I was used by God

It was just a test, God said, for me to be the best

I plunged through the rejection and the pain

I made my way by the black broken doors

My friends tip-toed from the circle of my existence

How could this be? They were all there under false pretence

They thought this was my end

But didn't know God was my friend

I'm a survivor in the lion's den.
