Poetry 3

State of mind

You do not acknowledge my advances

Pull away every time I reach out

Is it just me you don't see

Or do you just feel overwhelmed when you look at me?

The state of my heart apparently means nothing to you

No longer do I hear the words 'I like you'

I've become a pathetic shadow of a person; this is so not me

Enough!

No longer will I throw myself at you

I refuse to continue acting like a fool

'Just friends who like each other' Huh?

Well I deserve better than this!

Your words like strong hands are

clenched around my heart like a fist

Breathe, a steady intake of air

The taste so sweet to the lips

I've finally caught myself

My eyes unveiled, I can now see

You're definitely no good for me

And still there lingers that nearly forgotten fact

I still need time to find me

After all, you were only doing what you promised

I shall not fall till my heart is ready.

Cold world

It's a cold world

Everyone killing each other

We all want to get to the top

No matter what

Like crabs we pull each other down

And it never stops

It never will

For it's a cold world

Friends aren't friends anymore

Selfishness

Is what's all around

Lies, deceit

It's like plagues that surround

Stripping away the morals to the ground

No love, just cold hearts and

Evil thoughts

When did the world become so cold?

Is there nothing left to hold?

It seems this generation has got nothing to bestow

But one day this will all be old

Gone and forgotten

Passed in the hands of time

Everything left behind

And we'll have to account for all that which was unkind.

Oath

I can give everything but I can't give you that

I do my best but it seems it always turns out flat

I made an oath that I can't take back

You can have everything but you can't have that

It may seem selfish, to be normal is only a wish

I was fine on my own and concluded, maybe I was meant to be alone

You came back, this time my heart felt you, and that's a fact

Oh, what a wonder and splendour it

would be if you could wait for me

Not because you will be rewarded

but because it was truly meant to be

'Put a ring on it' that sounds cliché

put a ring on it because you need me to stay

I'm not forcing you, not at all

But a promise from you and I will completely fall

Maybe not today or tomorrow, to the end I will follow

I love you , sometimes I wonder

why I love you, but fear you will say goodbye

I will make peace with it, that I'll surely do

If you don't want me

I will always be thinking of you.
