Saint rolls out in New York

The twice-yearly fashion Olympics that is Fashion Week rolls out in New York from September 6-13.World-famous designers such as Marc Jacobs, Oscar De La Renta, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren are among the more than 200 high-octane runway extravaganzas that will unfold at Lincoln Centre (the official show venue) and across the city during the course of the week. Buyers, trend analysts, Hollywood celebrities, magazine editors, set designers, stylists, photographers, agents, make-up artists are all descending on the Big Apple for what is the first in the four-city fashion circuit which includes London, Milan and Paris (in that order).

New York City is now overrun by models from across the globe who are all aiming to get their moment in the career-making spotlight by walking the runway for some of the world's top trendsetters. Casting directors, artistic directors are now buzzing around many Jamaican models (managed by Saint International) as they decide on their final cast for the shows.

Saint CEO Deiwght Peters has approximately 12 of his protégées in the big apple preparing for the world's biggest fashion series. He is basking in the success of his 'fashion ambassadors'.

"I am proud that as one of the leading providers of Caribbean models on the world stage at this time, this season's Fashion Week series from New York to Paris is most important as it's a part of our celebration for Jamaica 50 and our models understand their responsibilities as the nation's fashion ambassadors," Peters said.

Models such as Orneila Edwards is getting an intense buzz marking her first full-time season in the industry after her graduation from Innswood High School this past June.

"We have great expectations for Orneila whose mature and positive attitude has been resonating with some of the industry's most powerful casting directors," Peters noted.

Other Saint models include Raschell Osbourne, Sosheba Griffiths, Ashane Rose, Kim Gordon, Jade Stephenson, Stacy Anderson, Brad Allen and Sean Thompson.

Griffiths who has returned to the New York market after an extended stint in London and South Africa is said to be getting strong feedback from top clients.
