Club Inferno reopens today
MONTEGO BAY, St James:
Club Inferno in Rose Hall, Montego Bay, which was an entertainment hub in its heyday, will reopen today.
The club, located directly across from the Holiday Inn along the Golden Corridor of the Rose Hall Strip, created a tremendous impact on the entertainment industry in Jamaica. It was known for showcasing the rise of many of the country's top international artistes, the development of reggae music, the fashion industry, and several youth-based programmes that offered wholesome entertainment.
Owner, Walt Crooks, who is also a founding director of the Reggae Sumfest music festival, says he will reopen the Club Inferno amphitheatre as the first phase of a project that he believes will lift entertainment offerings in Montego Bay to a higher level.
"Due to the lack of quality entertainment in Montego Bay, Club Inferno's return will be a refreshing welcome because of its ability to offer first-class entertainment to the various sectors of the society," he said.
The management has already decided to launch a Teen Jam production - geared at teenagers and young adults - to be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Thereafter, it will run on the first Saturday of each month.
The reopening event will take the form of a garden party where patrons will be able to socialise in a secure environment.
"All patrons are invited to dress casually elegant and prepare to share the vibe and enjoy good music for dancing and mingling at the newly refurbished Garden Bar," Crook added.
