Christopher's at Hermosa Cove, Ocho Rios, is back for the second straight year in the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week, after a rewarding first year in the savoury category.

"Our usual menu favourites are smoked pork chops and curried shrimp in coconut milk," notes general manager Donna Clarke.

The pork chops are available for Restaurant Week, but the star dish that should have diners hooked is the chipotle spicy barbecued ribs.

Succulently steamed, the ribs will be dresses, with a spicy chipotle BBQ sauce and grilled to a gorgeous honey-brown hue, and served with roasted garlic, mashed potatoes and a braised carrot bundle.

Christopher's at Hermosa Cove prides itself on this pork dish, as its owners Clayton and Deb Korver are from Iowa, which is considered by some to be the pork capital of the world.

"Customers can expect good value for money," notes Clarke. "The menu is not pricey, it's not priced like this every day, so we give customers a chance to enjoy good-quality food at reasonable prices," she continued.

"It's going to be a wonderful experience, right on the beach, which gives a warm and romantic feeling. Customers can expect good food, good times and a good atmosphere."

Clarke said Restaurant Week should help expose Christopher's to Jamaica.

"We're in a little nook, so Restaurant Week will enable people to know how good our food is, and so they'll come back again."
