Sagittarians Celebrate

Luvs, it's definitely all about the age of the Sagittarians this Yuletide season, as Saggis everywhere are celebrating.

Dears, on Wednesday evening, it was all about Prime Minister The Most Honourable Portia Simpson Miller, who celebrated her birthday and was hosted at a fabulously charming dinner party by the executive of the People's National Party at the Talk-of-The-Town restaurant atop The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, over there in New Kingston. And it was a very special outing, too as indeed, the PM who shares the same birthday as former 'first' daughter Ann-Merita Golding, but more anon.

And with Saggis still celebrating, we toast birthday celebrants: the lovely Sonja Simms; one-time scribe Roland Henry; model Justin Tapper; Dalton Spence; the charming Donna Ricketts-Slack, over in May Pen, Clarendon; the dapper Tony Williams in Florida; the lovely Winsome Smith-Barker in Lawrenceville, Georgia; artist Sharon Fox-Mould, in upper Marlboro, Maryland; the dapper Elliot MacMillan, now resident of the Big Apple, but currently touring Europe with his lady love Tara Mullally; and actor Tre Young, in the UK; who all celebrated last Friday, the 8th.

Celebrating Saturday, the 8th were: Rotarian Dennis Chung; David Geddes; the fab Daphne Simmonds; the fabulous Michelle Campbell; the beautiful Rani Powell, over in Morant Bay, St. Thomas; the lovely Carolyn Soutar, now in Miami, Florida; and Courtney White, now in Brooklyn, New York.

On Sunday, the 9th, among those blowing out the candles on their birthday cakes were: the charmingly beautiful Deidre De Cassia Soares, wife of the deputy chief of mission of the Chilean Embassy; Richie Durrant; and the stunning Rhita Kostali, in Bordeaux, France.

While on Monday, the 10th, comrades everywhere lauded the birthday of the late former trade unionist and Prime Minister Michael Manley, with a commemorative civic ceremony at National Heroes Park; others celebrating their birthday on that date include: musicologist Andrew Henry of Renegade Disco fame; lovely Ulla Wyckoff; artist David Pinto, whose solo exhibition opened last night at the Mutual Gallery; the fab Dahlia McDaniel; the gorgeous Kimala Bennett; cabaret singer and entertainer Kevin Clarke, over in Montego Bay; the affable Bevon Bennett, formerly of Hedonism 111, now in the Big Apple; the happening Sharon Malcolm, now in Bronx, New York; and the head-turningly-stunning Lydia Cherry, now in the UK.

And on Tuesday, the 11th, the celebrations continued as: the revered Tomlin Ellis; celebrated designer Lilieth Edwards; the elegant Maxien Davis; man-about-town and European gadabout Dwight Sangster; Bishop Howard Francis, over in St Ann, who celebrates the 31st anniversary of his marriage to the charmingly lovely Daisy Ward-Francis, the very next day, the 12th; the lovely Shernette Young, in the Bahamas; the fabulous Gloria Campbell, now in Houston, Texas; the fab Wayian Smith, in New York; and Edward Brett, in London, England; will all share the same birthday.

And Wednesday, the 12th, those who celebrated included: the fabulous Nurma James; Delroy Gordon; the fabulous Stefanie Thomas; Jevaughn Onaje Callum; Junior Francis, formerly of Ocho Rios, now in Florida making waves as a DJ; the lovely Elsa Thompson from Coleyville, Manchester, now in the Bahamas; the fab Stephanie Baker Winchester, now in Scarborough, Tobago; the lovely Sharon Samuels, now in Louisiana; Adrian Smallwood, formerly of Morant Bay, St Thomas, now resident of Toronto, Canada; and the fab model Alesha Nicole Nicholson, now taking London by storm.

The celebrations continued yesterday, Thursday, the 13th, as: the fabulous Sandra Feanny; Nigel Rhooms, over in Linstead; the simply fabulously elegant Khian James Hendricks, formerly of Montego Bay, now resident of Florida; Kenneth Cyrus, formerly of Spanish Town, now resident of New York; and the stunning Moya Baston Atkinson, formerly of Ocho Rios, now in Dubai, in the UAE, will make it a sizzling day of celebrations.

Celebrating tomorrow, Saturday the 15th, will be: the celebrated William Tavares-Finson; acclaimed artist Viv Logan; famed photographer and entrepreneur Janhoi Jaja; the beautiful Angela Amir; the fabulous Charlene Ashley; model and dancer and self-styled playboy, Romeo Mitchell; the stunning Catherine Goodhall; the gorgeous Marguerite Cremin; Montego Bay power-player Owen Allen; and the fab Heather Gray, now in LA.

And on Sunday, the 16th, the partying continues as: the regal Sheila Graham; theatre icon Volier Johnson; businessman Joscelyn Campbell; Kenrick Nugent; and the lovely Rhona Beswick in Minneapolis, Minnesota; will be sharing the same birthday.

Come Monday, the 17th, among the fab crowd still celebrating will be: Minister MP Horace Dalley; the charming and talented Natalie Thompson; curator of the Mutual Gallery, the charming Gilou Bauer; Thomas Desulme; the fabulous twins Shana and Raihn Sibblies; Curtis Craig Campbell; the lovely Nancy Anderson, over in Runaway Bay, St Ann; and the affable Oliver Jarchow, over in Paris, France.

On Tuesday, the 18th, the elegant Jane Joslin will be celebrating her special day at her ranch in Athens, Texas; the fabulous Leslie-Ann Rose, formerly of Hedonism 111, now resident of Atlanta; the fabulous Rolande Pryce, now in Washington, DC; the lovely Fern White, now in Brooklyn, New York; the fabulous Juanita Foley, in New York; the lovely Jennifer Nunes Grey, in the Big Apple; banker Lissant Mitchell; the charming Ann Gordon; Hugh Douse, over in Spanish Town; the fab Shanice Brown, over in Ocho Rios, St Ann; and Horace McCormack, in Fairfax, Virginia; will be among the birthday celebrants.

Come next Wednesday, the 19th, it will be all about: Lloyd Stanbury, over in West Palm Beach; Barrington Burke-Green in New York; Matthew Buchanan, also in New York; celebrity bride Sashani Nichole, in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; Marilyn Linton, now in Toronto, Canada; and Ryan Wilson, who will be the ones celebrating.

And on Thursday, the 20th, those partying will include: investment banker Chris Berry; the lovely Maurilyn Whittaker; the fab Sandy Bolton; the charmingly lovely Kamla Forbes-Lynch; the lovely Anna Simmonds; the lovely Marie Grant Campbell, over in May Pen, Clarendon; and the regal Pauline Petinaud, over in Port Antonio; who will all share the same birthday.

Many happy returns all around with champagne toasts and beluga treats.

And a very special belated birthday wish to the iconic Blanche Blackwell, mother of the legendary Chris Blackwell, who celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday, the 8th, back in the UK.

And my congrats to the fabulous couple - Rodger and Shana Brown - on the birth of their firstborn David Rodger ONeil Isaiah Brown, who was born on Monday, the 10th.
