PULS8 - Fresh, trendy
Krysta Anderson, Gleaner Writer
Last week, a new, exciting hot spot in town reintroduced itself to the Jamaican public. It is PULS8 at the the same venue - 38A Trafalgar Road. The original Studio 38 has been merged with the modelling agency, Pulse, to create a fresh, trendy rendezvous.
The space and the agency are generally regarded as separate entities, but Puls8 has transformed the location into something much more fabulous.
Already the host of Pepperseed Wednesdays and MVP Fridays, Pulse is seeking to expand its entertainment package to include corporate functions and comedy events, so Puls8 promises great entertainment in a superb ambience.
Pulsating reggae music greeted fashionably chic patrons who slowly trickled into the stylishly decorated location. The vibrantly designed Puls8 bar was headlined by Appleton Jamaica Rum, the location's title sponsor, with a Carreras' mural, showcasing Pulse models, elegantly displayed in front.
Supporters delighted their taste buds at the courtesy bar which offered complimentary Appleton mixes, including the 'Appleton Special Reaction' and the 'Appleton Genesis Inertia'. It became a mingling frenzy with rhythmic reggae music and smooth R&B provided by MVP Fridays' hosts DJ Narity, Richie Ras and DJ Sanjay.
CEO of Pulse International, Kingsley Cooper, thanked everyone for attending. Catherine Goodall, trade marketing manager of Pepsi, and the key accounts manager, André Pryce, from Carreras Limited, representing the Dunhill brand, spoke about their involvement with Puls8. Red Bull was acknowledged for its contribution and Gary Dixon, sales and marketing manager of J Wray & Nephew, standing in for the Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum brand, expounded on his company's active engagement with Puls8. Warm appreciation was also extended by Pulse's sales and marketing director, Safia Cooper.
