Tuesday talk
Still the Queen
1. Some folks are wondering what is the position with the "Republican" status that our politicians have been talking about for years. There was a loud bang last year when we all but said goodbye to the queen - then nothing.
What service?
2. It took hours for things to settle down after a certain name popped up on the company's pay-roll. It's the kind of thing that happens when someone goes on leave. Many eyebrows were raised at seeing the name of this "new employee" who is known in other circles for expertise of another sort. Question being asked: what service is he providing to the leisure company?
No more smile
3. She is known among the happening crowd as a "pirate" for, with one eye open, she has cleaned out many victims. Her favourite was the diplomat who would walk around with wads of cash. She described to a friend how she would peel off bills from piles discarded on the floor. But she stopped smiling when she saw the video.
Wigs for sale!
4. If the worst should happen, the lady is counting on selling a few of her wigs to meet her monthly payments. She had acquired them during the boom, now she is not sure where the rent money is coming from.
Shorts at dinner?
5. Too many people are ignoring dress code these days. How does one explain wearing shorts to a formal dinner? Even if it is dressed up with a cape of sorts, a pair of shorts is a pair of shorts, and the host was not amused.
