Jamaica-Cuba eye care screening for Clarendon

The Jamaica/Cuba Eye Care Programme will be conducting free screening sessions in Clarendon during the course of this month.

Screening will be done strictly for adults for the conditions cataracts, pterygium (fleshy growth on eye) and diabetic retinopathy.

The sessions will begin at 9:30 a.m. each day and are scheduled as follows: April 15 at the Wellness Centre at the Clarendon Health Department; April 16 at the Chapelton Community Hospital; April 17 at the Crofts Hill Health Centre; April 18 at the Lionel Town Hospital; and April 19 at the Spaldings Health Centre.

Persons must visit the above-mentioned health centres prior to the screening dates to pre-register, and provide a referral from a public health facility and valid identification, such as passport/driver's licence/national ID or a certified passport-size photograph with TRN.

Those selected will be asked to provide two contact telephone numbers.

Screening will also continue Monday to Friday for the rest of the month at the National Chest Hospital in St Andrew.
