Craving some comfort dessert or simply want to try something new that satisfies that sweet tooth of yours? Well, look no further, because there is a new ice cream parlour in town, located at Sovereign North in Liguanea, called Stone Cold Ice Cream.

With a great demand for ice cream in Jamaica, especially on Sunday evenings, Stone Cold Ice Cream opened its doors to customers recently. The newly opened parlour carries a total of 20 different flavours of premium ice cream, all from the same brand.

Their signature dishes are also a big hit at the parlour. The Snickers-mi-lickers is one such dish, consisting of two scoops of ice cream, marshmallows, whipped cream, a Snickers bar, and chocolate syrup, mixed on a cold platter, which is guaranteed to please your taste buds.

The aim behind the name of these signature dishes was to keep them as Jamaican as possible, using names that Jamaicans can associate with.

Other standard signature dishes include Chocolate Browning, Cho-co Chips, and Goldy Locks. According to proprietor Donovan Kong, Jamaican products are one of their key components in completing the Stone Cold combinations. Their most exotic ice creams are Rocky Road Brownie and Turtle Sunday, and their number-one seller is Peach Yogurt. It is real yogurt served with real chunks of peaches in it.

There are four more signature dishes on the horizon, and customers can also come in and formulate their own desserts, requesting other ingredients available to make their very own signature dish.

Bringing back the practice of a traditional ice cream shop, Stone Cold offers ice cream sodas, jumbo malts, smoothies in various fruit flavours, and baked desserts. What makes them stand out is the fact that not only are they providing quality ice cream and desserts to their customers, they are also creating a social spot for ice cream so that people can enjoy an "ice cream social", as Kong refers to it.

"Instead of just purchasing the ice cream and going back home, customers can actually stay, sit down in a comfortable atmosphere, enjoy the ambience, and just indulge," says Kong.

Their opening hours are currently from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and they are working on remaining open a little later - up to 11 p.m. or midnight - to cater to those persons who have that late-night sweet craving.
