Thursday talk
The hottest topics on the cocktail circuit
Four factions
1. Insiders are saying that it is obvious that the party is in free fall as the organisation is no longer acting as one cohesive body, but has broken down into factions and counterfactions with there being at least four fractions fighting for supremacy.
Under the carpet
2.The one who was once detained after a number of illegal weapons were assigned to him, and placed under house arrest, has re-emerged and is touting himself as a pillar of respectability as he attempts to sweep all of his messy past under his newly acquired carpets.
No solutions
3. For some within the Government, the debate about the MP's actions is much ado about nothing. They say, however, that the Cabinet minister's lapse in judgement was tantamount to an admission that he has run out of solutions to address the problems, making Jamaicans cringe in fear.
Cash runs low
4. Story is that the primary beneficiary of the Ponzi scheme is running low on cash, as he was busy living high on the hog. Friends say his high-living, high-flying days are all but over as funds are now so low, he and wifey are both on the job market.
Deal in the works
5. The legal matter just got thicker with the recent rulings in another jurisdiction. Some say, now that the extradition is moving closer to a reality, those who made the allegations now have more to lose if the one who is the subject of the extradition request decides to cut a deal. And the talk is, a deal is in the making.
It's a man's job
6. Quote of the week: "What were you all expecting? A boy cannot do a man's job!"
Time for a change
7. Some in the business community are now urging one of the "Turks" to stage a challenge to the current boss at the next big meeting. Their reasoning? They say he is now a spent force, with no hopes of being rehabilitated.
