WESTERN BUREAU:

Motivational speaker, Donna Duncan-Scott, stirred, inspired and energised a number of women of power in western Jamaica last Saturday, at what her Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB) team tagged, 'Dare to Dream'.

Duncan-Scott, group executive director at JMMB, and her staff, hosted the women to High Tea at the Hilton Rose Hall and, while sampling some of the most tasty rum balls, they were given a serious wake-up call about the absolute necessity for a financial-planning workshop.

The JMMB executive reminded the handpicked group representing various sectors, including law, medicine, education, business, tourism, technology and politics that, in order to achieve self-actualisation and empowerment, dreams must be more than visions of the future.

"They are seeds of everything we dare to want. They show us how to live our lives best while inspiring us to be more," said Duncan-Scott, who was ably assisted by her western Jamaica counterpart, Lorna Hall.

SHARING DREAMS

The intimate group, which saw attorneys-at-law Jeanne Robinson-Foster and Jacqueline Hamilton; doctors of philosophy, Luz Longsworth and Angella Samuels; nurse administrator Joy Crooks; Jamaica Public Service's Kathi Cooke and Melissa Chang; Member of Parliament, Marissa Dalrymple; St James Parish Councillor Suzette Brown and businesswoman, Dacia Smith, completing dream cards and sharing dreams comfortably among each other, was like a breath of fresh air.

The women were given an opportunity to see how their dreams could be realised through financial partnership with JMMB, which, Duncan-Scott said can provide holistic solutions with investment and bank products.

Maximising wealth creation and achieving financial independence, were among the areas highlighted by the financial institution as the women sipped high tea, nibbled on cookies and cakes, while committing to working together in a philanthropic cause aimed at assisting tertiary students who are at odds with paying their tuition.
