Thursday talk

Wrong move, past presidents

1. Some members of the organisation are not only crying foul as they speak to the recent utterances by those elected to represent them, they say they are so ashamed, they are trying to distance themselves from the utterances. Problem is, independent observers are saying, whatever the merits of the teachers' position, they ceded it with the personal broadside and mudslinging undertaken by some leaders of the organisation in an effort to denigrate the minister.

We are watching!

2. Some are saying there seems to be a massive cover-up now playing itself out as the one who is accused of an offence is seemingly being treated differently. Those closest to the affair say they are paying keen attention to this one.

Art thieves widespread

3. There are calls for the police to investigate a number of so-called 'antique dealers' across the city, as they say, based on a recent spate of robberies which saw a number of historical and valuable pieces being stolen from a number of high-profile personalities and their fortified homes, it is high time the police look in this direction, as they say some 'dealers' are the fence, dealing in stolen goods.

Collection time

4. Stories are circulating of workers not being paid; utilities being disconnected; and creditors camping outside the luxury complex in hopes of collecting.

Stop this one!

5. With complaints coming in every day about the practices of one who is supposedly there to protect the interest of the aggrieved, some are asking what will it take to have this person brought to book and be held accountable.

Big power stealing

6. Some say widespread electricity theft is rampant not only among the ranks of the lower classes and gully-side dwellers, but among the middle classes as well. But what got some jaws dropping is that the abuse is rampant within a particular sector. Wait for the scandal!

'Thief from thief'

7. When word hit the streets the other day about a certain burglary, there were those who laughed so hard, the tears are still streaming down their faces. According to them, this was a case of poetic justice.
