POEM OF THE WEEK

It's complicated

How do you choose between the two?

How do you make everything right?

They both mean just so much to you

to choose is causing sleepless nights.

It's hard to leave the first behind.

Such memories. Once love was strong,

That love still lingers on my mind.

Once we were happy. Was I wrong?

There was nothing we wouldn't do

we thought, but we became complacent

and slowly love drifted away,

replaced with mistrust and resentment.

We needed time apart to heal,

for months and days I felt the pain.

To stop breaking each other's hearts,

we chose to walk alone again.

So both of us went separate ways,

put it behind us, closed the door.

She insisted that time would help.

We could be friends forevermore.

My new love at first made me feel

better - she was good company

who took away the hurt and pain

and wiped my tears, said she loved me.

She had a body any man would desire,

but it's not the same.

There's no passion or connection

and so her love can't ease my pain.

My new girl's spoken of her love,

wants to make her future with me.

My old love wants to try again -

with her there is security.

My new lover excites me so,

but still I query. I have doubt

I'd take them both, but in fairness

I cannot - one I must let out.

I must decide who gets my love

and who departs my heart today.

A choice not easy when I love

them both in many different ways.

Best wine is on the vine

Best food is made without killing any kind
Best drink is water from spring - warm, chilled, or as ice
Best sound is in storms and raindrops rhyme!

Best music is bird's call and chanting for divine
Best songs are lovers' silent craving inside
Best games end with joy without a sigh
Best cars are hydrogen-solar-electric clean and quiet!

Best toys are pets playing in yard or in the wild
Best job is to earn living clean with pride
Best teachers always honestly criticise
Best neighbourhoods ensure trees are plenty standing high!

Best book teaches truth for evolutionary rise
Best religion is non-violent extension of science
Best celebration is giving with an open mind
Best friend is a caring spouse for whole life!

Best house is a cottage in the countryside
Best government is open, honest, and kind
Best leaders communicate to break the ice
Best ideology is serving beings with a smile!

Like a thread

I wish there was a straight line I could walk on
And in the same breath, I wish not to fall
But somehow, just like a thread that line breaks
But that is not the end at all
There will always be another piece on the other side
Waiting for you to hang on as time goes byl
But remember that line will continue, and never ends
And just like a thread it bends
