Jeffieca Woodley is Miss New Horizon Prep

WESTMORELAND:Twelve-year-old Jeffieca Woodley was crowned Miss New Horizon Preparatory 2013 during a coronation ceremony at the Sean Lavery Faith Hall in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, on Sunday.
Woodley, who wore the sash Miss West Coast Honda, was placed ahead of five other girls.
Other participants in the event included grade five students Ackadia Guthrie, Rachel Gifford, and Janelle Black as well as 10-year-old grade four student Roger-Nae Taylor, and Kristen Josephs, a 10-year-old of grade six. The contestants put on a spectacular show for friends, family, and well-wishers.
The six were judged in several categories, including Introduction, Casual Wear, Talent, Evening Wear, and the Question-and-Answer segment.
But it was Woodley, the crowd favourite, who walked away with the crown and three sectional prizes. She copped the sectional awards for being the Most Congenial as well as the Most Talented for her original poem, Original Mad Woman.
She also copped the Best Costume sectional prize for her 'Witch' outfit.
In the question-and-answer section, Woodley was asked to convey her opinion about boys and household duties. She confidently replied: "I think boys should do household chores. They should learn to wash, cook, and iron so that they will become independent and responsible men in the future," her response receiving cheers from an impressed audience.

The runners-up were Kristen Josephs, who was also judged Most Aware, and Rachel Gifford. Sectional prizes were awarded to Roger-Nae Taylor for being the Most Improved; Janelle Black for having the Best Smile; and Ackadia Guthrie for having the Best Stage Personality.
