WESTERN BUREAU:The 2013 Talents of Palladium champion Steve 'Switchblade' Watkins will be the man in control at the Stiletto II Lingerie and Pyjama Party at the Jockey Factory Complex in Lucea tonight.

Watkins will emcee the show, which is being staged in Lucea for the first time by the Negril-based Southwinds Promotions company.

Orville Parker, co-owner of the Southwinds Promotion Company, said the event is being held in collaboration with JB Overproof Rum Trelawny Blend.

Last year's party, Stiletto I, was held at the Rooftop in Negril, Westmoreland, under the theme "Divas in Heels".

Parker said he, along with his business partner Richard Jones, decided to stage the event this year in Lucea as they recognised that most of the patrons and entrants in the competition who were in attendance last year had travelled from Lucea and other sections of Hanover.

Over the last year, the duo has staged themed parties in Negril, including Cheaters, Moulin Rouge, and the White Affair party, which was held in August. According to Parker, all the parties were well supported and were executed without commercial sponsorship.

"When we started promoting parties last year, we decided that we would do parties with themes. We didn't want the gentlemen to feel left out, so we decided to do a stiletto and pyjama party. We got a real good turnout at Stiletto I last year, even though it clashed with another big event that was happening," he explained.

"This year, it will be the same theme. We will be giving more prizes, including sectional prizes for best lingerie, best accessories, best hairstyle, best stilettos, and best pyjama. We are expecting a good turnout because Hanover is a prime area for entertainment, and Hanoverians seem to want more exclusive parties," he added.

Music for the event will be supplied courtesy of Sound Trinity and Pinchaz music and will see the likes of selectors DJ Baa, the duo of DJ Problem Child and Ice Wata, and DJ Jashie of Ultra Media.

There will be free tequila and jello shots upon entry. Ladies in stilettos will get free accommodation to the venue, while men in pyjamas will pay half price.
