Wendy's has been hitting all the right taste buds since they made their way to our green shores. The international food chain has gained even more ravenous customers, with the opening of their second branch close to the heart of Half-Way Tree.
With increase in popularity, Wendy's has come up with a new burger, just for their food lovers. On Monday, July 15, they introduced their new Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger. This features adelicious new twist on their classic Hot N' Juicy Cheeseburger with a sweet and smoky honey mustard sauce, melted cheddar cheese, and freshly cooked crispy bacon all on a warm soft pretzel bun.
A pretzel is usually a hard snack shaped like a knot, packaged and sold in a bag. There is another type of pretzel, however, that is made of dough, baked and has a soft, chewy texture. This pretzel, made in the same unique knot, has instead a sweet and savoury flavour.
After months of testing in other select international markets, Wendy's tapped into their customer's love for pretzels and created an innovative food trend, transforming the iconic snack into an artisan-crafted cheeseburger.
According to marketing coordinator for Wisynco Foods (operators of Wendy's in Jamaica), Jodi-Ann Wright, "This burger is a product you would not expect to get from your regular fast-food restaurant, but rather from a casual restaurant because of the premium quality of the ingredients. Wendy's was able to take this premium product and offer it at an affordable price to the everyday customer."
She continued, "At Wendy's, quality is our recipe and we always strive to provide our Jamaican customers with an innovative and unique product that is not only appealing to the eye, but also tastes good and is made of the highest quality ingredients."
Among the features of the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger is the Wendy's pretzel bun, which is made from using the same authentic process of traditional soft pretzels. Each pretzel bun is also hand-cut, giving each one its own special appearance. The cheeseburger combines hand-sliced red onion and tomatoes with their newly formulated Hot N' Juicy Beef, and cheddar cheese sauce. Naturalcheddar cheese, sweet and smoky honey mustard, and freshly cooked crispy bacon round out the ingredients served in the toasted pretzel bun.
