LIME CEO's breakfast a tantalising treat
It is said that the most important meal of the day is breakfast. If that is so, then those invited to LIME's CEOs breakfast last Friday were in for a treat.
The idyllic Devon House mansion on Waterloo Road was the locale that bore witness to Jacqui Tyson's culinary wizardry.
Laced with Jamaican authenticity and international flair, the meal had tastebuds sighing with satisfaction all through the day.
The menu started innocently enough with a fruit martini - fresh seasonal fruit served in a chilled martini glass topped with a dollop of yoghurt. But then it was on to Lox, Stock and Barrel - the finest imported smoked salmon fused with Jamaica's premium smoked marlin served with freshly baked miniature bagels, sliced tomatoes and capers, and whipped cream cheese.
Tastebuds in a Frenzy
If that wasn't enough to have the tastebuds in a frenzy, the Yardstyle Fusion ackee and salt fish vol-au-vent, alongside a fillet of mackerel rundown, sure did the trick. The Yardstyle platter featured ackee and saltfish served in a light pastry with serving of fried plantains and smoked country ham alongside fillet of mackerel rundown drizzled on a 'Tun Up Cornmeal' medallion.
Then there was the classic eggs benedict done 'Great House Style' - a bacon patty on a toasted English muffin, topped with a poached egg finished with a generous serving of Scotch bonnet-infused hollandaise sauce.
All this was washed down with mimosas - blended with non-alcoholic wine or orange juice served upon arrival.
Of course, no breakfast is complete without freshly brewed Blue Mountain coffee, a selection of teas and juices.
