WESTERN BUREAU:The Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry is promising the "biggest expo ever" in the 15 years it has been hosting its business exposition.
In what the organisation dubbed as a teaser to what should be expected at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, come October 11 and 12, it hosted one of two Corporate Mingles Tuesday night at the Blue Beat Lounge in Montego Bay.
Some 70 members of the business community were fêted while being introduced to the latest addition to the expo offerings - a partnership with the Culinary Federation of Jamaica (CFJ) and their 'Taste of Jamaica' event, which will be held on the same weekend at the same venue.
Members of the public attending the expo will also have access to Taste of Jamaica. Admission to the expo is free for the first time in its 15 years, says second vice-president of the chamber, Gloria Henry.
Henry also announced plans for the setting up of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce logistics hub and access to a delegation of business persons from Atlanta, Georgia in the United States.
A signature event that the expo will also have again this year is the ever-popular Gleaner Spelling Bee competition for adults and children.
