Tuesday talk

Private jet and award

1.  So what if the lady hired a private jet to take her to pick up her award? That is how VIPs roll. We gather that some colleagues were not too pleased, not because of the cost involved but more so because they felt peeved about fattening some person's pockets.

Why the hell?

2.  If one needed an economic lesson in understanding why the dollar is under so much pressure, one should check certain supermarkets that persist in using the scarce commodity to buy unnecessary items. Now why in the name of all that is holy should we be importing passion fruit, tamarind or pomegranate, etc?

Puppet master

3. When the story is all told many will be shocked to hear who is the real puppet master. It seems the one who left the stable is not content to remain in the orange column, but he is still working behind the scenes to ensure that he does as much damage as possible to shred the organisation, and there are some people who actually believe he has their interest at heart.

Is this right?

4.  It's time for the consumer protection agency to do some work. For example, several supermarkets have cleverly displayed labels in bold that give the price if one is buying 12 items, however, barely discernible is the price for one item. Many people have been fooled and the agency should ensure that this type of advertisement is corrected.
