Crying foul

They were once highly respected. Times have changed, however, and recent developments have made them the laughing stock of the industry. Some say they over-reached. Others are less kind. But when they could not come up with the US$40 million to close the deal, another businessman did. Now they are crying foul.

Breaking away

Word is that some in Camp 'A' are getting worried, as it seems not all the delegates are sticking to the plan as set out by their MPs. Word is more and more delegates are breaking away from their MPs to openly voice their support for the challenger, which has resulted in threats of expulsion and threats of demotion.

Silly point

The suggestion from the former politician that the western airport be renamed is causing disquiet across the board. Observers say if the Government were to follow on the "foolhardy recommendation", it would set the stage for a whole-scale rebranding of national symbols and places for political purposes.

Dark nights?

There are more calls for the OUR to be 'defanged', as stories are emerging that the JPS could not replace its decrepit generating units if it wanted to, as the OUR would object. Word is that the old generating units are all set to give up the ghost, but the OUR is a hindrance. Unless something gives, the country will be in for dark days and nights ahead.

Wrong labels?

Some say the shortage of chicken back and parts recently is attributable to those who label expensive meats they import under the label, "Chicken back and parts'!

All a mess!

News of the resignation is being welcomed in some quarters. And those welcoming it are saying they are expecting a number of others. For some, it's a matter of ideology. For others, it's a matter of principle. And some say another will be fired or reassigned as the relationship shared with previous boss was not a professional one but one of an intimate nature and, as such, has compromised professional standing.
