A place for vegans
If you are a vegan, then Natural Touch Vegetarian is definitely the place for you during this year's Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week.
A vegetarian restaurant that is true to its word, owner Davine Moving told Food that Natural Touch Vegetarian is "one of the few places in and around Kingston that does vegan, and persons should certainly come out and try our food".
With a real Jamaican feel, the red, green, and gold décor of the restaurant sets a relaxed atmosphere for customers.
The restaurant, renamed in 2011 from Healthy Diet to Natural Touch Vegetarian, has been part of Restaurant Week once and is jumping on-board again this year. "Last year was good. We got good exposure. People got the opportunity to try out our foods," says Moving.
"This year, we will be offering for Restaurant Week curry dahl with wholewheat roti served with cream potatoes, mango chutney, and split peas soup," Moving added.
Chef Oneil Williams tells Food all about his special, which is the broad bean casserole served with creamed sweet potatoes and ripe plantains with Greek salad and split peas soup. The broad beans are baked with pumpkin and soy or almond cheese.
