Island Entertainment Brands, parent company to Margaritaville, hosted their annual staff awards on Tuesday night, at Secrets Resort in Montego Bay, paying homage to top-performing staff members for 2012.

Outstanding staff members throughout all the Margaritaville locations in the region were honoured in a glitzy ceremony for their commitment and dedication.

There was a total of 12 awardees for the night, including Manager of the Year, Beverly Brown; Chef of the Year, Maureen Wilson; General Manager of the Year, James Symyrozum; Support Person of the Year, Gillian Windross and the Exceptional Service Award to Rupert Johnson.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ian Dear, expressed his appreciation to the team, noting that the success of his group of companies is because of the hard work and dedication of his team members, whom he classified as being the "real gems" of Island Entertainment Brands and Margaritaville.

"I am very proud of all the awardees tonight, you guys exemplify all that is the best and the greatest of our group and I want to thank each and every one of you for all your hard work and commitment," Dear said.

The ceremony was chaired by André Dixon, director of sales and marketing, and William Mahfood, managing director of Wisynco Group Limited, was the main speaker for the evening. Like Dear, Mahfood also gave credence to the workforce, describing it as the "engine of growth of any organisation", and expressed the importance of businesses to invest in their people capital.
