"I am very happy to be awarded Employee of the Year," Dobson said. "I would like to thank the management and my colleagues for this recognition of my work. I also want to thank those who work with me on my daily shift. This is indeed an honour for me."
In addition to being fêted, the employees were also entertained, and some employees even showed off their dancing skills, much to the delight of their colleagues.

In addition to the main awards, which covered 10 categories, certificates of appreciation were given to several employees for outstanding performance in customer service.
Among the other top awardees were Donovan Ontroy, who won the Best Smile Award and the Special Star Award, which recognises the employee winning the most monthly awards; Darwin Mowatt, who won the Employees Choice Award; Janielle Feurtado, who won for Most Independent Award; and Keneish Codmer, who won the Most Knowledgeable Award.
Shantol Smith won the Room Service Operator of the Year title, while Rochelle Phipps, Okeine Lewis, and Jodene Burgess copped the Pool Concierge, Best Attendance and Concierge of the Year awards, respectively.
In his keynote address, Reverend Marc Mullings encouraged the workers to continue to offer service of the highest standard, using graciousness and a friendly smile as their trademark.
"A lot of guests come to Jamaica because of the graciousness that we show. The first visit is usually based on the experience of others, but when they return, it is based on their own experience,'' Mullings said.
